It can be a scary prospect.
It's a common misconception that fitness classes are all filled with super young, super fit girls in skimpy workout gear - and that's simply not true!
But even so, rocking up to your first class can be a daunting prospect, especially if you are not only new to the class, but also new to exercise.
According to GOV UK in 2022, nearly HALF of women in this country are not active enough to achieve good health.
That's right... HEALTH. Not bikini bodies, toned arms or flat stomachs, but things such as reducing risk of cancer, diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Decreasing depression and mental health conditions, and reducing risk of hip fractures by up to 68%!
Our population is currently 20% less active than in the 1960s and if current trends continue, that number could increase to being 35% less active by 2030.
